Elegant pair of Ca’ Rezzonico chandeliers in Murano blown glass, an authentic expression of 18th-century Venetian Baroque and Rococo style. The result of the extraordinary craftsmanship of Murano glassmakers, these chandeliers stand out for their rich decoration and harmonious proportions.
Made in the first half of the 20th century, they feature a large cage-like structure composed of transparent blown-glass elements with pink and light-blue inserts, embellished with multicolored leaves and flowers. The nine arms, arranged around the structure, support nine candle cups.
Dimensions of each chandelier:
- Diameter: 95 cm (38 inches)
- Height: 105 cm (41 inches)
- Weight: 35 kg
The name “Ca’ Rezzonico” derives from the Venetian palace of the same name, once owned by the historic Rezzonico family. Even today, at the Ca’ Rezzonico Museum in Venice, it is possible to admire a similar monumental example, though larger in size, which testifies to the extraordinary importance of this model in the Venetian glassmaking tradition.
The chandeliers have been completely disassembled, restored, and returned to their former splendor. The internal metal supports of the arms, which had previously rusted, were treated and silver-plated, while the electrical system was entirely replaced and equipped with grounding. The electrical system is compatible with both 220 V networks and the 110 V systems used in the United States.
Each chandelier is illuminated by nine lights with E14 lamp holders. Upon request, the candles can be replaced and E12 lamp holders can be installed.
