Large Italian Crystal Basket Chandelier – 18 Lights – Empire Style – 1930s –Bronze

Important Empire style crystal chandelier with 18 lights, made inItaly in the 1930s, with a bronze frame embellished with cut crystal decorations.

Faceted crystal strands descend from the upper crown to the central band, then connect at the bottom of the chandelier, giving it the characteristic Birdcage silhouette.

The central band is enhanced by six bronze arms, with wooden candles and saucers, adorned with hanging crystal drops, and is further enriched by rows of cut crystals that amplify the light refraction, creating a rich reflective effect.

Empire style chandeliers originated from French models popular in the early 19th century during the Napoleonic period, characterized by bronze structures adorned with rich crystal decorations. Throughout the early 20th century, this decorative style continued to be appreciated and was reinterpreted by numerous European manufacturers, giving rise to chandeliers inspired by historical models.

Thanks to the richness of the crystal work and the proportions, this chandelier has a strong visual impact.

The chandelier is illuminated by a total of 18 lights: 6 external with E14 socket and 12 internal with E27 socket, also compatible with American E26 bulbs.

It has been completely restored: the crystals were disassembled, cleaned, and reattached one by one.

The electrical system has been replaced and is equipped with dual ignition and ground wire.
