Produced in Italy around the 1920s, the chandelier represents a refined example of the transition period between Liberty Style (Italian Art Nouveau) and the early influences of Art Déco. During these years, the elegant organic forms of Liberty began to evolve towards more balanced and symmetrical compositions, anticipating the decorative language that would characterize the following decade.
The structure is made of cast and chased brass, enhanced by a golden patina. The central body consists of an ornamental crown from which the arms extend, decorated with floral motifs, leaves, and scrolls inspired by nature—typical elements of the Liberty repertoire reinterpreted with a more rigorous and monumental approach.
The bell-shaped frosted glass lampshades feature geometric diamond-shaped engravings, preserving the naturalistic taste typical of Art Nouveau, while the large central bowl, also in frosted glass, contributes to the aesthetic balance of the entire composition.
In the early decades of the twentieth century, decorative lighting took on an increasingly important role in representative interiors. The best Italian workshops, drawing on a solid tradition in the artistic working of metals and glass, created chandeliers destined for noble residences, city palaces, and prestigious hotels, where the chandelier was not only a light source but the main decorative element of the environment.
Due to the high quality of the castings, the richness of the decorations, and the harmonious combination of chased metal and frosted glass, this piece testifies to the high level reached by Italian craftsmanship in the field of artistic lighting during the first half of the twentieth century, still maintaining strong historical, decorative, and collectible value today.

The chandelier has been completely restored, and the electrical system has been replaced. It is illuminated by seven lights (six E14 sockets on the outer arms and one central E27 socket), also compatible with E26 bulbs used in the United States. It is also equipped with a ground wire and operates at a voltage between 110 and 240 Volts.
For the U.S. market, the E14 sockets can be used with E12 bulbs via simple adapters, easily available online. Alternatively, it is possible to use 110 Volt E14 bulbs directly, which are also readily available.
