Large vintage crystal chandelier in empire style, in gilded bronze

Large balloon chandelier in crystal and gilded bronze, made in the 1940s. The frame, decorated with floral garlands, neoclassical rosettes, and dark green inserts, supports a cascade of cut crystals that gathers at the bottom, outlining the typical balloon shape. The lighting is provided by six E27 lamp holders, also compatible with E26 bulbs, located inside the structure.

Dimensions: Diameter: 50 cm (19.7 Inches), Height: 110 cm (43.3 Inches), plus the chain.

The Empire style originated in France in the early 19th century, during the reign of Napoleon I. Its characteristic motifs include laurel wreaths, rosettes, garlands, eagles, and references to classical Greco-Roman art. In the following century, it was revived and reinterpreted.

Completely disassembled and restored, the chandelier retains its original patina. The electrical system has been replaced.
