Large Italian Empire Style Crystal Chandelier, 1940s, 13 Lights

Large Italian Empire-style crystal chandelier from the 1940s, made of gilded iron with gold leaf and featuring a distinctive balloon shape, decorated with glass chains, rosettes, prisms, and faceted crystal drops.

With a diameter of 100 cm (39.37"), this large chandelier features a very unusual construction, without a traditional rigid internal frame. The chandelier is supported by a series of internal chains, while its balloon shape is defined by numerous strands made of small cylindrical elements in clear glass, which also form part of the decoration. The result is a light, almost suspended structure that allows light to pass through the glass strands and crystal pendants.

The decoration is enriched with rosettes, faceted prisms, and large cut-crystal drops, arranged throughout the chandelier and along its lower section.

The chandelier has 13 lights: 12 external E14 sockets and one internal E27 socket that illuminates the center of the composition.

The height can be increased by adding additional links to the suspension chain.

The chandelier has been restored.

The electrical wiring has been completely renewed and includes a ground wire. The chandelier is compatible with 220–240V and 110–120V electrical systems. The 12 external lights use E14 bulbs; for the US market, E12 bulbs can be used with suitable adapters.
