Antique Art Nouveau Chandelier in Brass and Crystal, 9 Lights - Italy 1920
Unable to load pickup availability
Antique Liberty (Art Nouveau) chandelier made in Italy in 1910-1920 during the Belle Époque. The chandelier is characterized by a sturdy brass structure, embellished with various festoons and floral decorations that give the imposing figure, grace and elegance. The long central stem is crossed by an ivy-shaped frieze, supports 6 curved arms with pine cone-shaped crystal globes and a large central crystal globe, has a total of 7 lights (E27). The chandelier has been completely restored, it is in excellent aesthetic and functional condition. It has small signs of aging, in particular a couple of globes have a slight mark in the glass that I have blocked with ultraviolet products specifically for glass, eliminating the risk of a possible future crack. The electrical system has been redone from new and also works with LED bulbs.

Methods for cleaning a glass or crystal drop chandelier
All chandeliers need some periodic care to ensure that they are always bright and shiny. Below you will find some tips to help you with these operations and clean them easily. To clean a chandelier with drops there are several efficient methods and products:
- First, turn off the power.
- Get some rags or newspapers and place them under the chandelier
- If you use chandelier cleaning products, spray the product generously directly onto the crystals, so that it drips onto newspapers on the floor and removes the dirt.
- Be careful not to spray the product inside the lamp holders otherwise when you turn on the light you could cause a short circuit
- Once the cleaner has finished dripping, the chandelier will be clean and will shine again.
- If you want to get a better effect, when the chandelier is still wet, gently rub the drops with a soft cloth.
- For cleaning you can also use natural products, creating mixtures of warm water and lemon, or water and vinegar, or water and bicarbonate, which can be sprayed with an aerator on the glass and then rubbed with a cloth to remove dirt and dry them.
Methods for cleaning a Murano glass chandelier
To clean a Murano glass chandelier there are several efficient methods and products:
- To begin, turn off the power and wait for the light bulbs and glass to cool down, otherwise when you spray the solution on the glass you could risk breaking it due to the sudden change in temperature.
- Get a ladder and unscrew all the light bulbs, remove them while holding the candle with one hand, otherwise it could spin on itself and twist the electrical wires.
- Start by removing the leaves and flowers that are inserted into the central disc of the chandelier and place them on a soft surface
- Fill a basin with warm water and add a glass cleaner
- If you prefer a more ecological but equally functional system, put some warm water and white vinegar in a basin (2 glasses of vinegar for two litres of water)
- Immerse the components of the chandelier one by one in the water and vinegar solution, taking care to immerse only the glass parts , and not the part of the plaster casing that is at the base of the flowers and leaves, because if this were immersed the plaster would be ruined, thus damaging the correct functioning of the interlocking between the casings and the central disk.
- Dampen a cloth with warm water and vinegar, and rub it gently over the entire glass structure of the chandelier and all the components that you could not remove, dry them with a microfiber cloth. At this point, replace all the flowers, leaves and components that you previously disassembled and you will see that your chandelier will shine again like the first day.
